Gin

“Gin and tonic has saved more English lives and minds than all the doctors in the world.”

- Sir Winston Churchill -

The Dutch Courage – a term used by English soldiers during the Thirty Years' War to refer to gin. It is an ancient distilled alcoholic beverage made primarily by infusing juniper berries and other herbs and spices into pure alcohol derived from grains or fruits. Gin reached the peak of its popularity in the 1950s and 60s with the Dry Martini. However, it fell out of favor during the 1970s, overshadowed by vodka. By the late 1980s, gin regained its former glory, sparking the curiosity of bartenders and becoming a new source of inspiration for mixologists worldwide.
